S\u00ed, volver a esas tierras ba\u00f1adas por el sol, salpicadas de mil colores, con paisajes pintorescos e ins\u00f3litos, para retomar la c\u00e1lida y fraterna tradici\u00f3n de acoger a su gente.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Este a\u00f1o, sin embargo, me he decantado preferentemente por Centroam\u00e9rica, de la que, para ser sincero, no s\u00e9 mucho m\u00e1s que de Sudam\u00e9rica, donde particip\u00e9 activamente en proyectos humanitarios hace varios a\u00f1os.<\/p>\n<h3>Viajar a Guatemala<\/h3>\n<p>El viaje comienza precisamente en M\u00e9xico, donde pas\u00e9 un mes de vacaciones antes de dirigirme tranquilamente al lugar de mi pr\u00f3ximo proyecto: Santiago Atitl\u00e1n, Guatemala. Un pueblo tz&#039;utujil habitado por pescadores y artesanos, ubicado a orillas del lago Atitl\u00e1n (considerado por la revista del NYT como el segundo lago m\u00e1s hermoso del mundo, \u00a1y cr\u00e9anme, no es broma!). Se asienta sobre una majestuosa cordillera volc\u00e1nica, \u00a1y me faltan palabras para describir tal esplendor! Solo el viaje desde la frontera mexicana hasta el centro de Guatemala, que poco a poco se va revelando a trav\u00e9s de paisajes espectaculares, bien vale la pena. Un viaje en autob\u00fas que multiplica panoramas improbables, perspectivas inquietantes, zigzaguea entre las monta\u00f1as y de repente se hunde a 1500 metros en el lago Atitl\u00e1n. \u00a1Extraordinario!<\/p>\n<p>Tras cruzar el lago en barco para llegar a Santiago, me encuentro totalmente inmersa en mi nuevo universo: la familia de Lolita y Chonita. \u00a1Qu\u00e9 alegr\u00eda vivir en una familia tan sencilla y acogedora! Siempre tienen un detalle, un gesto, una sonrisa para hacerte sentir como en casa. De mente abierta y con un gran sentido del humor, sus miembros contribuyen enormemente a la calidad de nuestra estancia. Una casa donde otros voluntarios internacionales (principalmente de Europa y Norteam\u00e9rica) se conocen y conviven. Un punto de encuentro que da lugar a eventos profesionales adicionales (excursiones, veladas, eventos deportivos\u2026). En resumen, pura felicidad. \u00a1Pura Vida!<\/p>\n<h3>C\u00f3mo funciona el proyecto sobre el terreno<\/h3>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-324 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.onetwo-tree.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/Guatemala-3-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Ahora, el proyecto en s\u00ed. Integraci\u00f3n en las escuelas p\u00fablicas de la regi\u00f3n, en colaboraci\u00f3n con el Ministerio de Educaci\u00f3n nacional. Un proyecto bien establecido al que solo le falta aportar nuestra energ\u00eda y conocimiento. Obviamente, somos bienvenidos aqu\u00ed, y a\u00fan m\u00e1s, pero el objetivo es adaptarnos principalmente al modelo local y luego compartir nuestro conocimiento y diferentes culturas. La acogida de todo el personal docente nos permite comprender r\u00e1pidamente la alegr\u00eda que experimentan al recibirnos. La alegr\u00eda de los estudiantes tambi\u00e9n cumple con nuestras expectativas. Conscientes del privilegio que supone para ellos recibir profesores extranjeros, y deseosos de tenerlos, se involucran mucho en sus tareas escolares. Aplicados, \u00e1vidos de conocimiento, perspicaces, respetuosos, sonrientes y divertidos, los estudiantes contribuyen poderosamente a nuestra participaci\u00f3n e inserci\u00f3n local, as\u00ed como a nuestro bienestar y vitalidad al impartir clases durante nuestra estancia. O c\u00f3mo descubrir el placer de ense\u00f1ar, de compartir conocimiento. S\u00ed, digo &quot;compartir&quot;, porque, sin duda, a menudo recibimos mucho m\u00e1s de lo que podemos ofrecer.<\/p>\n<p>Una experiencia de voluntariado que se vive al ritmo pausado del lago y sus tradiciones ancestrales. Un intercambio cultural que no carece de sentido, al contrario, porque durante toda nuestra estancia formamos parte integral de la comunidad, de ese pueblo peculiar con costumbres y lengua \u00fanicas.<\/p>\n<h3>La vida fuera del aula<\/h3>\n<p>Adem\u00e1s de esta experiencia excepcional, la ONG One, Two\u2026 Tree! nos ofrece cada semana un fin de semana largo de 3 d\u00edas (\u00a1los viernes son d\u00edas no laborables!). Una oportunidad perfecta para visitar Antigua, considerada una de las ciudades coloniales m\u00e1s bellas de Latinoam\u00e9rica, el volc\u00e1n Acatenango (\u00a1y sus majestuosas cumbres!), Ciudad de Guatemala (la capital) o simplemente otras orillas de lagos\u2026 En resumen, pronto te dar\u00e1s cuenta de que hay mucho que hacer en la regi\u00f3n, tanto entre semana como en los d\u00edas libres.
