I am deeply saddened by Pol's passing. I didn't know him long, but he was always so friendly. I remember he came to dinner with me, along with other volunteers, to celebrate my last night in Nicaragua. He was very helpful in helping me order my food at the restaurant. I will never forget Pol because he was a part of a life changing experience for me. I know all the lives he touched will help to carry on his legacy. I also want to send my condolences to his friends and family and let them know they will be in my prayers. – Leslie Turner, One Two Tree volunteer

The world has lost a beautiful soul, but the footprints of Pol will leave an impact on the world.
Pol touched the lives of many people, mine included. I met Pol on his travel to Nicaragua. His openness, humor and sincerity when helping out in one of the poorest countries was without comparison. He was curious as to improve his English and me my Spanish which resulted in great fun and talks of differences. We also celebrated life in San Juan del Sur with a night of laughing, drinking and dancing. We compared cultures and talked about our studies. We discussed our hopes and dreams of the future.
I was extremely shocked and saddened to hear of his passing, and my condolences and prayers go out to the family and friends of Pol.
I will always cherish the fact that I am one of the many lucky people whose life was touched by a kindhearted spirit like Pols.
The sky has received a beautiful star and the memories will forever be with us.. Pol will always be in our hearts. – Julie Rumin Engholm

That is such a tragedy. Pol was always so friendly and helpful and a lovely person. I'm so sad to hear this news. – Richard Hooker, One Two Tree Volunteer

– Pedro Pestana da Silva, Presidente de One Two Tree

To hear about such a tragedy as this left me without words. Life is truly unfair when such a young person is taken away from us. Pol was a warm hearted person, and his volunteer work and aspirations to be a doctor is proof of his will to help people. As the temporary coordinator at the time I saw some of his fantastic relationships with the adults and children in the English classes of One, Two... Tree, and also with the people from AMS. I will aslo remember his humour, being able to put a smile on me and the students in some of the adult classes we did together, and some great social nights at the end of our stay.
I feel deeply for his nearest and dearest. I will for sure have good memories of Pol, and I hope that they can also carry on their best moments to keep him with them. -
