At this point most of you have already heard about the political crisis in Nicaragua. Since last April, political protests have arisen across the entire country. There over 300 reported deaths, barricades are installed in most cities (including Diriamba) and the lack security and unstable circumstances make it impossible for international volunteers to carry out any work. This is probably the most important news we have announced in this section since One, two…Tree! was born. We have doubled our projects in Central America. From now on, we will also teach English in Guatemala. Before we had a project to finance and support another NGO in this country, now we will have an office with a permanent coordinator managing the volunteer work of our own organization.

We have signed a nationwide agreement with the Nicaraguan Ministry of Education. After a year of meetings, calls, hopes and many delays, we have signed this new collaboration agreement with the MINED of Nicaragua.

This year and for the first time, we have organized a dinner with all school directors of Diriamba, volunteers and representatives of the Ministry of Education. Basically, we had all stakeholders of our biggest project sitting in the same table.READ MORE
